Used to get a threepenny bit or even a tanner from my gran to go to the sweetshop at the end of the street. One of those old ones with jar upon jar, shelf upon shelf of sweets. Black Jacks and Fruit salads were often in the selection - all put in a cone shaped paper bag.
 
AND, I can remember paying 1 old penny for 8 black jacks or fruit salads. You could get a right bag full for a Bob!:thumbsup:

I'll tell you where it came from Dave, but keep it to yourself.;) A couple of weeks ago a man who brings his 1984 Merc. 280SL for test came to book it in. I told him that in all honesty that I hoped it would be the last time I tested it (no offence meant) as I've tested it every year since I've worked there (2002).
It came for test on Tuesday this week and afterwards he and his wife came round to the w/shop with a bag containing a bottle of wine and some chocolates with wishes for a happy retirement.

I brought some of those in Asda on Thursday :p
