Just lowered my spare to check it out and this was laying inside the wheel.
Can someone tell me where it should be?
(Cue Hardtop!)

Not sure if they are the same or a variation, but I have 3 rubber buffers as above mounted on some square brackets to stop the spare wheel rubbing on the underside of the car.

I had a look around the area above the spare wheel and couldn’t see anything that looked like the one in your picture.

Done it! You were right Mazza. There was a bracket more or less where your photo showed it to be.
Thanks for taking the time and trouble to check it out for me.

Just for info, I checked on Realoem to see if the rubber stops where listed.
And it appears that they are not.
Only the brackets numbers are shown as a front (one )and lateral (two). But the part numbers for both were changed after 2000 which would probably explain us having the different shaped rubber inserts.
Mine is 1998, and yours is 2001 (51 plate)
