Well that might be a Cannon but it's definitely not a Canon. Unless you took the photo with a Canon camera 
But as per other answers re: the rifling I expect the answer is 'gun'.

Me neither. Although I'm only a military tourist/sight-seer. But perhaps it's a very primitive or specialist application.
It was originally a 10" smooth bore with limited distance accuracy. It was retro fitted with an 8" rifled insert which doubled the distance with accuracy. It was called a fifle, the rifling isn't completely straight although it does appear to be in the picture. Picture taken at Ft. Pickens in Pensacola.
