Wheel Wobble issues

Thanks for the advice all. I'm not sure if this is relevant to the car shake, but at higher load / speeds the car does pull to the left
Sorry a bit late now (only just read the post) - I think that's the answer to your problem and a good indication that one of the calipers isn't working properly

Hi Jim. Yep all sorted now. The problem was found by pure accident and such a simple one which is why i guess it was overlooked.
The rear tyres were on the wrong way round!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so happy its sorted but also VERY annoyed that i spent a small fortune on new front tyres x4 and the problem was the morons that fitted the tyres.
That said i'm quite surprised that such a simple thing makes such a big impact on the way the car drives.

Glad to hear it's sorted out so easily in the end and too bad you had the added expense on top of the problem! JIM

Glad it's sorted Wayne.
Just wondering did it start straight after the rears were fitted or were the rears already fitted incorrectly for some time and the problem manifested itself after they wore down a bit.

Mine has started a wobble which feels just like wheel balancing on the front but had them re-balanced and it's actually worse so have to go down the whole diagnostics route which has been detailed extensively in this thread, first thing will be be to change over all the wheels to my winters and see from there, free solutions first!!

Hi Dino. The wobble started as soon as the full set of new tyres were fitted. This is what made me replace all the pads, discs and suspension. Having the tyres checked and balanced god knows how many times and always being told they were ok, this is why we assumed it was something else. Hard to believe something so simple could cause so much wobble and rumble.
Definitely try the free solutions first. I did it the wrong way round, just like my bloody tyres!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting read and I am glad you got it sorted. I remember last year when I was looking for new tires and saw those unidirectional tires for sale. I did some reading up on them and decided not to get them as I always get my tires rotated every 5k and I didn't want to get locked into swapping the FR with RR and the FL with RL only, I like to have them rotated all over. I don't stagger my wheels either - keep it simple is my motto!

Thanks for sharing the results!

It because the symtoms are so horrible you think it's something really expensive.youve got good suspension and brakes out of it:thumbsup:

@Dino D same symptoms on mine, checked the usual pressures and balancing etc, turned out to be a sticking caliper.

I've got an infrared temprature measuring gun to check my radiator for hot spots, think itbwill come in handy to check for sticking brakes!

A very useful bit of kit Dino, I use mine to measure engine temperature where I can't get a probe in to measure oil temp. Among a host of others, including how cold your aircon is getting!

Tony.

ps. The price of these has come down loads lately too.

Yep, about £20 from toolstation.

My wife was happy to see it, says she needs it for the kitchen too so everyone's happy!
