I just went from (fully worn out) Dunlop 225/50-16 to (50% worn) Michelin X-Ice 185/65-15. Car went from undrivable to perfect. That car is completely overpowered by the OEM sizes (which were imposed by marketing against the better advice of the BMW technical team). It needs smaller and rounder tires, smaller rims, higher sidewalls, and a contact patch that's more lengthwise than transverse. Since I have the 16" rims, I am considering going to 195/60-16 for my summer tires. Only concern is, 7J16 is a bit wide for 195/60. Maybe I'll just stick to the 15 and use these for summer tires, with 186/65. Has anyone tried these sizes?
