What's you winter plans for your Zed?

This is my first time I have put a car away for the winter.
I have an old lady(my God parent)garage for the winter a bout a 5 min walk from home.
I still can't make my mind up to either sorn it till April using my god parents garage and avoid the salty roads of winter and fireworks or cary on regardless as i still have 1200miles of insurance left.
If I do store it for the winter is it best to leave the petrol tank full or empty and to remove the battery or leave connected?
If there is no power in the garage for a tricle charge.

Is a Solar powered battery conditioner worth thinking about?

Tony.

I would like to get the Front Bumper off, sand back all the dodgey repairs and re-fill then repaint professionally.
Rear Screen needs renewing and piping. Heard it's a fun job!

I am the custodian of a Z3 that clearly has never seen a British winters roads in its entire life so I feel obliged to continue looking after her . She will be going away at the end of the month in a warm garage with a cover for hibernation until I wake her up to tax her next April with the hope we actually get a summer next year...

You need to be careful driving your car with a real fire blazing away.

Was this you?

Spotted!

Well, we seem to be in the minority here, but I'll keep driving mine!
Yep, engine loves all that cold air rushing in!....mind you I am south coast, very mild. I can understand those that suffer frost/snow/salt roads not wanting to drive their pride and joys.

The benefit though of having a bit of a low key Z that's not worth so much, the opposite of a garage princess is that you are more disposed to drive it in good times and bad without worrying about things so much.

As uausl my reply is a bit late to the thread, however:

Would like to do many things, but how many actually get done is another matter!

She will be going away in October and hopefully will emerge next April/May with the very ocassional outing if really necessary.

So far the to do list is (in no particular order)
  • New hood and possibly head lining - dependant on budget
  • Get through its next MOT (due November) and see what that reveals
  • Seat bushes on passenger side (did drivers last winter)
  • Seat leather restoration
  • Possibly some under bonnet cleaning and detailing
