Whats best to cure/prevent Surface Rust on underside?

Just purchased several cans of Dinitrol RC900 Rust Converter + Dinitrol Underbody Wax......I will post updates as I progress.
While I have the Zed in the air; I am seriously considering changing the wishbone suspension bushes using OEM originals..........I'm afraid I have discounted the polythene option.
Has anyone got either a link within .ORG or .NET to give an 'idiots guide' on the process of changing the front suspension bushes. I have found numerous details on changing the trailing wishbone bushes + complete housing.....but the rest is a bit vague......as far as I could find :-\
I'm all for 'getting stuck in', but would much prefer to hear from other members experiences before I proceed. :-bd

Brought this old thread back up as I am looking to get some protection under the Z3.

Seems good stuff - not as thick as some of the other makes and a lot easier to apply. I wire brushed the whole of the underneath of the car,mostly surface rust, and treated any some areas with some paint that a mate of mine gave me. He worked for the company that maintains the electricity pylons and this is the paint they used for that. Good stuff - you don't see many rusty pylons! I did have a 25 litre drum but it's just about gone now. I then sprayed the whole of the underneath - taking care to cover the exhaust and brake clipers, etc.
Only downside is at MOT time I got one advisory - 'underpanels covered in sealant' - still I can live with that and not many people would be put off by that

I've just done my 2.8 whilst I had the panels off. For the rust I just used hammerite kurust and then covered it all with carplan tetroseal which is like a thick tar type product that dries hard. All from eurocarparts when they had the 30% offer on. A lot cheaper than some of the other products but they both seem to have done a great job. Still got all the underside to do but the panels don't need removing to do that.
