What would you get?

Just ordered the Advanced 200 piece socket and ratchet spanner set. List price £350 with 50% discount, £25 code discount (thanks to @Neilc) and £100 contribution from the award - Total cost to me : £50! :)
Happy bunny
You have certainly ended up grabbing a bargain there.:thumbsup:

Have most of those already.
I've long considered changing the head unit for a half decent DAB radio. £100 goes a decent way to paying for that - the downside is fitting it. Am a bit underwhelmed with the 3rd party single DIN panels for the Z4. Also, fitting it to ensure the BT and handsfree works OK. Can you trust Halfords to do it or has anyone else done that upgrade?

If this is something you want to do at some point I can walk you through it, it's fairly simple.

Have to agree. The 200 peace set looks great value at 50% off plus £100 towards it.
I've got to 200 piece set I bought 3 years ago on 50% off. Not a heavy user but its superb. Last job I did was the roll hoops the other week. Once opened I didn't have to go to the shed for anything else. I love it and for £150 It was a real bargain.

Not as much of a bargain compared to the £50 @Redline paid

Nope agreed Bill. But he had a freeby voucher which my work unfortunately don't hand out so that would make equal. The original starting price is actually £50 up on when i bought mine.

I would complain to work mate. Tell them you deserve a reward voucher

I'll still walk out having bought something else as well when I pick it up. It's impossible to leave a tool shop without having bought more than you went in for :)

I have a reasonable variety of tools already, but, many have been scattered to the four winds some of which helped by my eldest lad. It will be good to have much of it back in one place.
Next job is to sort my existing tool boxes that have become full of old nuts, screws, bolts and bits from previous jobs.

Thanks - it's a minefield doing this kind of job and ensuring everything works as it should afterwards. So many options and so many adaptors etc. I'll take a look.
It should be easy - I've worked in telecoms and broadcasting for 35 years but rarely get involved with the equipment myself nowadays. Give me a keyboard to configure it and I'll be fine ;)

You must work on different things to me Tim.;). Only things I come across then on are Landrovers.

Tony.
You adding induction kits and reprofiled cams on lawn mowers now Tony =))

The halford tool sets are great i have a 3/8ths drive one and the quality is supurb.A wise choice and a great price.
One thing you will only need to buy once for sure

I'm no specialist and genuinely it's very simple. You can't really go wrong. From what I understand no adapters are required. Not for z3 anyway. It literally plug and play. The only tools job is joining the dab ae power wire. And then unclip some trim to put it on the A pillar.
PM me if you want with pics of what you get, in terms of choice there is little that will match the interior other than the continental.

Good job on the tools too, keep the receipts you can swap them out in store if any break.

It's the integration with the wheel controls and phone kit microphone although that isn't used often. Also how do you migrate the phone off the installed BT kit. Am sure it should be simple but it never is.

Aha I see, no steering wheel controls to deal with on the z3. But I'm sure it's do able. If you speak to the audio guys in halfords, my local was really helpful and talked to me through it in the shop.
