Well, we decided an ice cream run was the order of the day. We went to the Cow Shack at the King William pub at Scaftworth near Bawtry. They sell Jersey Ice Cream and it is delicious. Tables outside in, what we presumed used to be the pub car park.
The car park is now across
the road in the corner of a field and people are kindly asked NOT to park on the street, however.
The grounds go right down to the bank of the River Idle. Stacked with fish the slow flowing river is delightful to sit near. Also there is a bar down near the river, pizza bar and large patio outside the pub.
A truly delightful setting on a day like this. We will definitely be going again.
