Good news for now but how the air got in and if it will come back is not clear.I have some news: I took my car to a small garage closeby to me and the guy there unscrewed the water reservoir - righthand side close to top of engine bay - both the main cap and a small one with + on it - squeezed the radiator hose on and off for ages, ran the car engine at speed for about 20 mins and guess what? The needle on the temperature gauge went to 12 o'clock! Has stayed there since. He's asked me to keep my eyes on the gauge for the next few days but thinks, at this point, it doesn't need replacing.
Thoughts fellow Zeds?
Yes, I agree and thanks for your input. I appreciate all the advice I receive.Good news for now but how the air got in and if it will come back is not clear.
But same thoughts on preventative maintenance apply. 20 year old water pump and thermostat are likely to be past their sell by date. Something to plan in when the pennies allow.
I shall Tony: eagle sharp eyes. I think it's only temporary, too.Temporary fix at best Dawn. Keep eagle eyes on the Temp. gauge.
Tony.
Is there any #ZedShed open this coming week that would be able to help me out with my car's thermostat, please? I will get all the parts and supply bacon butties, obviouslyMay even throw in some lemonade]
And of course a case of beer for the owner of said Z shed![]()
