I'm sure this thread has done the rounds before, but what other interesting cars have you had the pleasure of owning and what was it like?

May not be interesting to many but my favourite car (other than my Zed) was my Fiesta RS Turbo. Cornered on rails and went like a rat up a drain pipe (gave the Renault Clio Williams a good hammering). And it looks great. Other views are available.

Nice! My previous 'fun' car was not much fun, I loved it but it was such a pain to keep on the road:
It was a 1978 Capri 3.0S x pack, 4.2 Rover V8 with omex 710 ECU, BW T5 gearbox, 5 link rear axle with koni coilovers, HiSpec brakes, Image wheels. It was fun when it worked, but I was always chasing electrical problems, it did my head in. I eventually sold it after 8 years of work to pay the deposit on my house!

I've also still got this which keeps me busy (meaning, I've blown up the engine....again)

Wanted a Capri but the C-in-C said they looked like a "Kevin" car and would never get in. No Capri then. Nice race day car.

We had a Fiat Uno Turbo for a while....downright dangerous and we got rid before one of us rolled it. I did enjoy giving the tailgating types on the motorway a "Wtf was that" experience!!! :)

My list is endless! But my favourites would be:
1978 Ford Capri 3.0s
1979 Ford Cortina 2.3 Ghia X
Various Mk1 and Mk2 Golf GTI's including a 16v campaign edition.
VW Sicrocco Storm.
I could go on! :)

I have a friend who had one, he had a brother, and he did. Luckily all 4 got out barely scratched. Not so the Uno.

I bought Shirl a Metro 1.3 with a Turbo Technics kit on it. The original carb and tennis ball size turbo was chucked out and 6" dia. turbo dropped in it's place and the bigger carb was mounted on an alloy trunking around the end of the engine. This thing was evil, tram lined and torque steered like the devil but it was loads of fun blowing off the 205 gti and Fiesta boys. Couldn't put a clutch in it which could cope with the power.

Tony.
