There are four sensors in brake system. They are on rear right and front left. You can likely swap the brake pad sensor in 20minutes and the rotation sensor…. Having recently changed mine, the connectors are brittle and flake apart when changing, so if you have had service done to pads recently your technician may have broken connector which can be plugged in, but not securely when broken. You may start there.

So are you talking about brake pad wear sensors which there are 2, pads are only 1/4 worn and no wires off.if you are talking about the 4=abs wheels sensors then as I mentioned I have checked these.

My bad, yes... ABS and Pad wear sensors... the connectors on my M were broken by previous owner and/or technician performing work and I'm looking to replace them. Good Luck with ODB reader. I have one on my G30, but need one for the Z.

With the lights on that you describe its likely that your problem is with the ABS pump having "dry joints" on the circuit board which need resoldering. A fairly common problem.

Tony.

Hi has any one heard of a reader company called Launch i an looking for a reader that will do both my Z and my Suzuki car ?

Creator 310+ or their latest version Creator 410+ are a popular scanner for our BMW Z3's and Z4's available on ebay and Amazon circa £50. To use on the Z3 you also need a 20pin to 16pin cable changer to plug it into the Round Diagnostic socket in the engine bay. If you also have a 16pin OBD2 socket under the steering wheel that will only read the engine and transmission modules. The Round Pac-man socket in the engine bay will tread all modules.
As to Launch scanners I have a Launch Tablet Scanner that reads all makes worldwide but its a Chinese version not an official Launch UK machine which I found out after I purchased it even though it was shipped from the UK. I paid £300 for the Tablet which came with 2 years free updates. After 2 years it will still work with the latest software update if you doin't renew the update service. I have been impressed with the functions the unit can perform its a really useful tool. Coding modules is very easy using it and it will email a full health report to the owner which is a bonus.
CVheck out Creator UK for the lesser handhekld units they sell but they don't come cheap, their UK version of the Tablet I have is over 1K from them.
