We were sitting watching TV last night and we heard a loud crack sound. After a look around inside and out we couldn't see anything.
Shirl went to bed a bit early, when I went to bed I discovered what the noise was.

The water had covered the tiled floor so I got some pool towels and mopped it up after turning off the water isolator.
A good job we extended our stay or the whole house floor would've been flooded by this morning.
They say "Things happen for a reason" so I guess this was it.

Tony.

WTF, you wouldn't have any luck if it wasn't for bad luck!

We get that feeling Keith.

Your photo got me thinking - are toilet cisterns like cars then?

From memory I'm only familiar with the right-hand flush models - I can't ever recall encountering a left-hand flush model ;)

Now that is a sign that you were right to stay!

A bit fortuitous, would have been a huge bill compared to your flight change costs. Hopefully that’s the end of any holiday dramas for you both. Never heard of a cistern tank failing like that, it not as if you have extreme temperature changes over there Tony.

We had one split in one of the other bathrooms in the past. Also one of the toilets cracked during the lockdown period too.

Toilet repair booked for tomorrow, good job we have 3 more bathrooms.

Normal service has been resumed.

Someone tightened the handle assembly too much or at an angle. Vitreous china doesn't just crack on it's own for no reason.

I've seen WC pans shatter due to some clown tightening floor screws too tight.

At the filling station tonight, on the next pump.

Did someone say "Only in America"?

When we had Cyclone Jasper come through with its torrential rain, and flooding was a real issue, some houses are still being fixed 7 months later...
I stuffed pillows down the poo chutes and gaffa taped the lids closed... Just a heads up Tony, also any floor waste, shower's and the like.. Nobody wants the next door neighbors S@#t in their house...
