What is this> Red button/LED....

Simple question - what is this, and what does it do?

I can't find anything in the User manual; I had assumed it was an LED for the alarm (never used the alarm so I couldn't confirm) however it does appear to function as a button?

Cool - just found a thread which says it turns off the interior sensors when pressed, if the alarm is in use. Handy to know!
