I nearly bought one of these in 1976, the price of the car was £800, but the insurance was £860, third party, fire & theft!!!:eek:

Needless to say, I chose a more wallet friendly vehicle, a Marina TC!:D

My Dad had one when I was growing up in the 80s, it had a hardtop but no softtop. I loved the car, it was a sad day when it had to go. I watched the wheeler dealers programme last night and they were tarting up a TR6 (repeat) it brought back some great memories.
 
I had one of these but in white, worst car I ever owned, 6 volt system, and kept catching fire, caught fire in a petrol station when fuelling up in Devon...Put the engine bay fire out, and continued with our journey.

Sierra? not sure where you are coming from with that one! No Not a Sierra, it is a Ford though.

If it's not a Cortina, was it the German version which was called the Taurus ?
