As the title said "What is it for ?"

I am thinking about changing my front window ( it has a chip )

I was looking at the mirror, it is bonded to the window, but what is the corrugated rubber bit?

I presume there is some wires but the mirror is not auto tilt nor has it got the led for the alarm like my e46

so what is it for?

Seem to remember its the central locking,but not 100 per cent.

I assumed its a Rain Sensor, it works when the wipers are set on intermittent, the delay between wipes decreases as the rain gets harder, or stops when the rain stops.

Checking the BMW TIS it is for the remote sensor.

don't think it is rain sensors

the wiper thing slowing down i think is controlled by the abs sensors

The reciever for the central locking remote is mounted in the mirror
