I dragged my 19 year old son just back from uni out to Dartmoor this morning an 0530 breakfast blast in the Zed. Chilli and Orange dark chocolate washed down with Coffee brewed on my trusty trangia. Home in time to take Mrs Bee out for a more gentle paced drive through the Devon lanes, followed by a picnic of Newlyn Crab and brown rolls with an M&S fruity thing for afters. Lunch sorted, Ace.

Has anyone tried Wyeska sausage? It's Polish lean pork with garlic and it's really moreish. You can get it from most deli's now. It's great with English Cheddar on white bread and butter. It's good too with scrambled egg.
Her Dad said Poles like it boiled and have it with hard boiled eggs.

My wife is half Polish, (Dad was Polish, Mom was English) and has introduced me to some unbelievable flavours.

Will have to try that, sounds good. Our son-in-law has Polish heritage, his grandmother was polish.

Tony.

Herring with onions

‘Hollandse Nieuwe’ (Holland’s new herring) is the new herring of the fishing season. It is only allowed to catch herring from mid May to mid July, when the fish are the fattest.
The first ‘Hollandse Nieuwe’ arrive on the market in the beginning of June. The first barrel of herring is officially auctioned in a feast where everyone’s eats raw herring, the raised money going to charity.

I like "Roll Mops" which is pickled raw Herring but not sure about it "Holland Style" I would try it though
