Just a small thing, but my car, just the same as it's been for over three years that I've owned it, normally does around 33mpg. Have a holiday over here and it's doing 37mpg. I realise there are more important things to do with my life than think about that sort of stuff, but that is one big difference.

You on holiday which means you are probably dawdling admiring the sights and holding up the locals hence the great mpg?!

Check the rear view mirror for angry red faces to confirm?!

My ///M been doing brilliantly dice being in the IOM for the last 10 months still on the same half tank shame I haven't got to drive it much:arghh: Enjoy the rest of your hols though and please post some snaps make a change to see some nice pics of Ireland instead of the old stuff we used to of security etc on tv news.

May get round to pictures, but life out there much improved from when I was last there in the seventies. No soldiers everywhere, rubbish bins in high streets, no checkpoints (legal or illegal), just wall-to-wall scenery, really friendly people, would recommend to anyone. Didn't really notice the border, just the change from kph to mph for speed limits. Not that I broke any, of course. May have to get cruise control, the car doesn't like to sit at 120 kph, just wants to get going.
Would 323 miles on a tankfull be some kind of record? Certainly is for my car. And no dawdling, either, good roads and largely empty.
