Been busy trying to get the maintenance done on my zed , just for peace of mind really
Had a heater issue so decided to replace a few bits
Water pump
Thermostat
Belts ( don't think I have seen worse than the ones that came off , chunks of teeth missing)
Then went underneath and changed the gearbox oil
Fuel filter , this was printed with a date of 06/1998 , that's older than the car?
All seemed to go pretty well , just need to bleed the coolant system and hopefully the car will run sweet
Still to do
Diff oil
Brakes all round
Sort out that spare wheel that according to the lady that sold me the car , it didn't have ! It looks like it never saw the light of day , rust rust and flat as pancake !
Anybody else have to do there own maintenance , I can't afford to pay garage bills so have a go at anything with help from the forum

I just looked at mine and said, you need a wash, so I will take the car out of the garage on a dry day next week and wash it, then I will take it for a spin over the Mournes!

Looked out my window at the pile of snow covering it where it's sitting waiting for spring weather and bought her a companion which will arrive sometime this summer from UK. See thread Trinity- Trinity Too!!

Hey Ken, what did you think to the door handle covers? Good quality items I thought.

Tony.

What I did for my Z this week was have a good read of the instruction book for my Sony Head unit and find out how to make it shuffle the songs/tracks on a memory stick. It was really nice sitting out in the sun with the motor warming and the heated seat on and my reading glasses as well. (Thanks Dave - @Mint) I'm beginning to think there is something in Shirl's favourite saying after all " Have you had a man look?"
Anyway the upshot is, it now does as it's told. Only 4 weeks and we're back out on the road again.:)

The petrol should be pretty clear in UK, if the fuel filter is the original one!
If you have a Limited Slip Diff 25%, be careful with the oil prescription! It's slightly different from standard.
The best and safe way it's do it your self; no hurry , no mistakes!:)

Added a cup holder to my arm rest.
Pic 1 is the arm rest previously posted.
Pic 2 is from a fairly robust plastic lid which has been cut and shaped and glued together and then sprayed black to match the arm rest.It is then stuck using double sided tape to the underside of the arm rest. (The 'female'unit)
Pic 3 is a bog standard Halfords £2.99 cup holder with the 'handle' bit bent to shape
Pic 4 shows the way in which the new 'handle' slides into the 'female' unit.
Pic 5 is the finished article which rest on the ashtray.
Pic 6 is with a Dr Pepper in it. A take away coffee fits fine as well.
