[ Dakar Yellow (rubber inserts will show as black strips but that looks cool also) to give the car a different image for 6 months of the year?

My M Series 1998 Dakar Yellow Z3 had fittings for a hard top. I have sourced a hard top of the same period and cannot decide if I should have it sprayed black (rubber inserts will blend in) to look like the soft top or Dakar Yellow (rubber inserts will show as black strips but that looks cool also) to give the car a different image for 6 months of the year?

I had silver on silver, and have changed mine to satin black to give a contrast, because silver on silver is common as muck ;).
However in your case dakar on dakar will still be rare, so its a no brainer..... Dakar all the way..
Don't listen to anyone else, because only my opinion is the correct one.

I still maintain, you're more likely not to keep it because it's too much trouble putting it on and taking it off, so paint it black and make money on it. Much more saleable than Yellow.(much bigger market).

You have to do it Dakar! It will look superb. Painting it black to be "safe", nah, you wouldn't have bought a Dakar car in the first place if you wanted that!

Did you buy the the car in Southend, I saw one advertised there a month or so ago?

I saw the same car in Southend myself living fairly local, but that was not mine and felt it was a little pricey

Sound logic, but definitely keeping the top as the car has to be stored outside and it will protect the soft top in the winter months if I fit the hard top before covering. May extend the life of the car later into the season for use also. If it gets sold it would be at the same time as the car, possibly separate from car as you suggest. No plans to sell, as bought to keep long term.
