Last Saturday I had my Covid injection at around 8.45 🌞
I was ok all day , but then around 7 I began to feel not right 😕
By the morning I was so ill I couldn’t get out of bed , I was worse than I was when I had Covid back in January 😢
By 3 o’clock Alan called 111 for some advice, 2 hours later I was taken to hospital and their I stayed until yesterday 😷
Ive got a underlying health condition ( Cyclic vomiting syndrome) and the injection had started that off by the time the medics got here on Sunday ( when I get cvs I’m that bad I can’t communicate with people and I’m not with it at all ) 😲
When I was in A@E I had a Covid test which came back positive , but I didn’t have Covid , I was put on the Covid ward in a side room , A few days later I came too , I was told what had happened to me , I’d been sick so many times , I now haven’t eaten anything for nearly a week except for half a piece of toast and a few mouth fulls of soup which was on Thursday, and I did eat a bit more yesterday, so I’m getting better,🥳
Because I was put on the Covid ward I couldn’t be moved because of cross infection, the reason I was positive for Covid was because I’d had it only 7 weeks ago 😷
I’m dreading having my second injection, just in case this happens again 😢
I do hope that everyone is well and it’s good to be back on here 🌞

Like you say Hugh , it does make you stronger 🌞
Thank you , in a few days I’ll be back to normal 🥳

Hope your feeling a bit better Shelly, Bad luck comes in three's. You seem to be having someone else's share?
Get well soon the suns on its way

Oh dear Shelly. I hope you start to recover very soon.
Sadly, as with any medication, even everyday things, there is a possibility of severe side-effects. Maybe the combination of your underlying condition and the fact that you've already had Covid meant that our system was still trying to come to terms with the infection. To add anti-bodies from the vaccine meant your system went into overdrive.

Considering you've already had Covid, I would be asking experts for a view on whether the second dose if still necessary. It could be they deem you safe from further infection. It is possible on the other hand that your body now has dealt with the additional burden and that the second dose poses absolutely no threat whatsoever. Of course, I am no expert, but, it seems a valid question to ask the experts. I would be talking to your GP to push this on your behalf.

Indeed, I would expect them to already be looking at and researching your case very closely to learn from it. There is a clear process for reporting these incidents. While the numbers of severe adverse reactions seems very small, the virologists will likely want to look at what's happened in detail, not necessarily for the vaccine for the rest of us, but to understand the bounds of where and when it is better to do something different to what most need. They are learning every day - this is a completely new situation for them and many things are still to be learned.

The important thing is that the vaccine is an incredibly important development for society as a whole, but, not without some risk itself for some albeit at a very low level for the vast majority of people. Your circumstances seem very different so there may be some things that can be learned from your experience without distracting from the clear benefits that the vaccine is giving us all.

Hope you recover soon and get back on your feet and am sorry you've had yet a further great upset.

You’ve had a tough time, hopefully you are over the worst, get well soon and look forward to driving your Z3.

Thank you Ian 🌞
Ive already spoken to the consultant who was looking after me last week , I spoke to her on Friday about it , she said nobody will know until I have the second injection 😲
She said I could be ok , but I might not , she also said if I catch Covid again it might be worse than I had it before or I might not get any symptoms 😲
Im going to phone my cvs consultant up next week and ask for his advice, I’ll start to take my sickness medication a week before I have the next injection, I really don’t want to end up in hospital again , but I suppose it’s better than having Covid and ending up in hospital 😷
Its a hard decision 🌞

Blimey Shelly, you are going through the wars this year. Bad news about your reaction to the vaccine but wishing you a speedy recovery now you are home. xx

Thank you Ian 🌞

Talking to your CVS consultant is best. The consultant in hospital was focussing on getting you well again. Your CVS consultant will pick up the baton as far as your condition and reaction is concerned. He should own the problem of looking at your specific condition and situation and have direct access to those in the vaccine programme. If he doesn't insist.... Make sure your reaction has been reported back to Astra-Zeneca. They will have the expertise and knowledge and be across such adverse reactions and future risks, probably far more so than some hospital consultant.

Gosh. That sounds horrendous. Heres wishes for best possible recovery Shelley, you have been through it . . .

Actually. It raises something I had been mulling over.

Vaccines introduce 'inert' virus so as to trigger your immune response in case a real bit of virus comes along. So basically, you end up with antibodies capable of fighting off the real virus, giving you some protection.

If you have pukkah Covid, your body gradually produces antibodies until the virus is fought off and you hopefully recover. Leaving you with some antibodies to ward off future infections.

So, if you've had Covid, why do you need a vaccine ? You're already vaccinated with the live virus instead of an inert copy, isnt it ?

I've probably got that entirely wrong, havent I . . .

Oh dear Shelly not another problem. Heart goes out to you cos your defo a fighter. Here's hoping that's the last problem you have to deal with. Hope AleNod is right and you won't need the second jab. Chin up and try hard to get some food inside you. Good luck Shelly and sympathetic thoughts for you. Sure you'll be back and well soon. Just like this.

I am sorry to hear you are really having such a bad year Shelley, I hope thing pick up for you very soon. :)

Thank you all for your lovely messages 🌞
I‘m not looking forward to my next injection 😷
But if I don’t have it , I might get Covid worse than I had it before 😲

Yikes! Hope you are feeling better soon! I am all in favor of the vaccine and hope to get mine eventually when I qualify. Having said that, it may be that for you the cure is worse than virus, remember you have the final say about the second shot. I think you already have some resistance to reinfection. Be well 🙂
