........I found the phone number of the seller i bought my Z3 from, back in April.

I remembered that he offered me the hard top, with fixing kit etc but i declined his
offer as was £ 700.-- and i thought i would probably not use it.

I called him yesterday to ask if he still had it but no he had sold it 2 month's ago.

DOH !! What a mistake to make :(

O no ......... :p
I bet you could kick yourself :(

Two and half months from now you'd be taking it off again anyway! Mid March last year I was cruising along top down in the sun.

@N4LLY i will give you a shout if I sell mine
I may need to sell to fund The Project Sunny

My z4 came with the hardtop I wasn't sure at first but now love the look with it fitted and as mine is daily driven I wouldn't be without it.
I hope you find one soon.

I hope I can secure one before next winter @Rally and if funds would've allowed David gave me the heads up on one at the weekend, and it was in Stering Grey too.:(:(
Might have to forego a week in Florida to make this happen, and as Jim would say, then the fighting started.:)

Well, it's happening some times; we try to save money , but we spend more instead.:( I assure you that collecting all good deals, just for the joy of a bargain will bring you tones of stuff from which you will use just 30%! From own experience.:D So forget regrets and keep looking: the day another HT will pop up, is close!;)

when i first got into z3s i thought i wanted an hardtop, but ive had some great winter drives with the roof down, so now i think the cost of the hardtop plus fitting kit would be better spent on something else

Petrol?;):D

I had a cosmos black hardtop. Loved the look but not being able to take the roof on crisp winters day and nights that we have here in the tropical southeast was a pain.

For me this entirely defeated the purpose of a roadster which has a furnace for a heater and heated seats!

So it just took up room in the garage mainly, actually I only had Irvin for the drive down from Scotland, don't think I ever refitted it in fact!

So I let it go for around 900 I think with fitting kit a few years ago to pay for other work the car needed.

It's nice to have but once you have you may find it nots such a big deal anyway, either way they seem sound investments as you can't seem to lose money on them.

I'd say put it nearer the end of the list of improvements, well after a nice exhaust, suspension, extra sets of alloys etc (one can never have too many of these I assure you!).

Like most things in life... You always want what you can't have, until you get it and don't want it! ( or need it)
Roadster.... Roof DOWN
Coupe.... For people with hair =))

When I had an MX5 Mk 2 I had a hard top. On those they are not too bulky and easy to take on and off, but basically I put it on for the winter and took it off each spring. If you use the car regularly in winter (and don't have a garage) it makes sense, but if it's your 'toy' for sunny days I don't really see the point of a hard top.

When I had the Mgf I just got fed up putting it on and off son I hung in the garage for a few years till I sold it so won,t bother with 1 for the z just use the focus instead in winter

Wise words everybody, am now considering on the need for a hard top.

Same happened when I sold my 2.0l.... however, the chap who bought the car came back early enough for the hardtop and fitting kit before the autumn so I honoured the original price - it still looks fantastic with the hardtop on

If you've never seen or driven your Z with a HT on then go buy one and do it, get it out your system cos you probably won't lose much if any money on it any way. Loved mine with it on but it's just too heavy and mines not a daily driver so doesn't get the use, and like someone has stated, takes up too much room in the garage. Love to see them on the Z's it changes the looks dramatically. Hard to fit without the use of the now rare guarges and without them you'll be lucky to get no rattles or leaks. Didn't deter me though. Go do it, you won't regret driving around in your new looking Z.

Couple of years since it's been on so maybe would look even better now with the extras I've fitted. Might get it out and on for some pics.
RHA. ROy.

Just my opinion @Rha but that spoiler really f***'s up the look of a really spot on nice car.....;)
