Here are a few pics of the last item contributed to me by Ashbandicoot before he passed. It's the inners of a N/S mirror which he replaced as it was completely seized. I've had it soaking for about two months in a bath of vinegar and have managed to free up the spring and soon expect all the corrosion will be cleared out of swivel. The keeper for the spring was so corroded it disintegrated so I'll need to find one later. Everyday a blackish mess works it's way out of the joint. It's a slow process but I really want to salvage this piece as I have a different model mirror on Trinity as delivered and don't want to buy a used mirror with it's own problems. Found a new case on eBay for £10 just needs painting. It's amazing seeing the crap coming out of the joints. And it fits my pension to a T!! JIM

Well done Jim :p

I like so much the simple old school solutions! And patience...
One old mechanic said:"in the garage (for cars) you need patience and...tobacco".
(It's true, at that time the cigarettes were ecological and killed noone...)
