Well @Macca and myself left the house this morning at 5.15 to pick up our daughter and take her to Addenbrookes for 7 o'clock. We walked back into the house at 8.30pm after spending 12.5 hours at the hospital. Our family is really getting our money's worth out of the NHS. Our daughter had a 5 hour operation to remove a tumour from near the pituitary gland which was pressing on her optic nerve. Think it was the longest day of our lives waiting to hear that she was in recovery. She looks as if she has been run over by a bus but her sense of humour is still there. So it's back there tomorrow to see how she is doing. Thanks NHS.
 
Here's hoping for a speedy recovery Mary. The NHS has it's critics, but they do a wonderful job.

The NHS may not be perfect but when the need arises it is fantastic. I hope you daughter makes a full and speedy recovery.
 
That must have been awful for you both, but what a relief, Mary, for Leanne to get that over and done with, we hope she recovers quickly. Good luck for tomorrow for her return check up!

Yet again more testing times for your family Mary. I hope she makes a full and speedy recovery. I have a growth on my puturity gland and have done for many years now. I do have medication for it but it doesn't affect me to the point of surgery thankfully. The NHS were outstanding with me when I was in hospital during the summer of 2015. After what they did for me I have nothing but admiration for them. Keep smiling!! :) x

It's a parents worst nightmare to see their child needing medical help of any kind. It is at this point though that our NHS absolutely excels. What needs to be done gets done. No haggling with insurance companies over what's covered and how much. It just happens. Long may it stay that way.
Hope the worst is now over and that your daughter has a full and complete recovery and that you too can feel better. And breathe....
