I was at home this morning when my next door neighbour called to tell me I had a puncture on the Citroen which was parked on the drive at the back of our house.
I have only recently had 4 new tyres and I haven't used the car for 4 days. I thought it had to be a slow puncture so I'll pump it up and take it to get it repaired. It didn't pump up so I removed the wheel and examined it.
I found that had been punctured in the side wall, a cut about half an inch long.
The trouble is, I don't know who I have upset or even if I have, but £103 for a new tyre brings on the pain.

I feel your pain Alan. That's a bag o' rats mate.

Tony.

That is a real bummer Alan

If the tyres are fairly new....is it a defect in the tyre????

(I hope Maxine and Bertie are keeping out of the way )

I wish it had been a defect with the tyre, I would feel better about that. The only defective thing is the person who did it IMO. Maxine and Bertie are safe and well

Was it a rip on a rough Kerr maybe?

Tony.

Looks like a screwdriver or similar to me Alan. There are some lousy ba***rds about.

That’s horrendous. It looks like the tyre has split each side the hole. Not sure you’d get that if it was just a screwdriver pushed into it. Looks like it has ripped open while the wheel was rotating. Tyres are incredibly strong even on the side wall. Are they Run-flats? You may not even know the tyre has punctured.

They are not run flats. The last time I used the car was a very uneventful trip to the hospital. I didn't hit anything and as I said the car has a low tyre pressure system and this would have activated in the event of a loss of pressure. Since then both Maxine and myself have walked past the car several times and not noticed a flat tyre until this morning.

I hope this isn’t malicious damage...purely an accident @Alan Slade

Had the tyre replaced today. The tyre had definitely been stabbed.
I have also bought a CCTV system for the back of the house.
This happened to one of my cars once before, about 15 years ago. So, at that rate I may have to wait a while to catch the offender.

Set up a crossbow, linked to the cctv....and see how they like it

The world is going to hell in a hand cart.

Had a similar thing on my x3 two tyres darted on opposite sides of my car had to replace all 4 with bmw approved tyres
Then 3 days later some lowlife did 2 more tyres luckily Kwik fit took sympathy on me and did me a good deal

Bloody arseholes, Why do people feel the need to destroy what other folk have worked hard to buy? Always happens to the nice guys, I hope somewhere down the line justice is served one way or another.

Sorry to see this Alan. At least it wasn't on your Zed
