Just bought a sandwich from the sandwich van where i’m doing some contract work - virtually the last one. Am now wondering who benefits from the vegetarian cheese =))

Perhaps it's vegi ham as well =))
Maybe they are getting people to try the cheese to see it's no different to normal cheese :)

Veggie cheese is non dairy for people who are lactose intolerant

Substitute. Same as that "meat" product Giggsy used to advertise and Mo Farah too. Quorn

Tony.

Didn’t know that. So it isn’t cheese at all then :(
It’s cheese! Vegetarian cheese is made with synthetic rennet rather the sort extracted from cows insides. The stuff for people who are lactose intolerant would be called “dairy free”.
You’re welcome :p

Tasted like cheese. Phew. So, back to why bother putting vegi cheese with ham.

It's a test mate to tempt people. Ham is kind of like bacon and bacon is a God that is best worshipped at least once a week.

All hail bacon

I can't understand why some people who don't like to eat meat or meat products will willingly eat meat substitutes that is made to look like meat or meat products, eg Quorn or Tofu steaks or sausages etc

So now the whole cheese thing has been sorted you do actually have a good point there Ian
The bread though only remotely resembled bread. Tasted like cardboard.
Beggars can't be choosers....

I too have wondered why people who choose not to eat meat spend money on things that look like meat. Some kind of contradiction thing going on there. Used to be a vegetarian myself up until I spent a while working on an organic farm staffed mostly by volunteers from all over the place, and I noticed that the ones who made the most fuss about what they ate were the ones who'd need tying down in a strong wind to stop them blowing away. Got sick of f***ing vegans telling me what I should and shouldn't eat, too. To55ers.

Well, thought it best I remind you - I ate some vegetarian cheese today. That’s my bit done for this year. I’ll not be blown away by a gust of wind anytime soon. =))

There were folks on the breakfast show this morning who are vegan a few days a week. Don't understand this at all.:( A bit like being half pregnant.
