I was wondering if Zedders of a certain age had experienced this... people think I've lost my marbles when I tell them this story.

Back in the early 70's my dad took mum, me and my next eldest brother, in his old Morris Oxford, to see a whale on the back of a lorry

I must have been around 7 or 8yrs old back then and I'm pretty confident it was on show in the middle of Matlock, Derbyshire. I can recall marvelling at the size of it and walking right through it, but the overriding memory was the absolutely putrid smell, that lived up my nose for weeks afterwards!

The whale in question was called Jonah and was one of three that toured Europe during the 50's, 60's & 70's. Apparently Jonah is still around somewhere in Belgium.
