It's been a funny old day.
This morning Gary and Izzy called in Lincoln to collect a bunch of double glazed units which need replacing at home. They stayed for 2-3 hours and had a picnic on the Roman Ruins (@hard top) for lunch. After lunch they went for a walk up to the Lock, so I said my goodbyes and set of to Lincoln. 1st stop City Glass to pay for the windows, out of Lincoln Fields shoot down the A46 and fuel light comes on so off onto the A57 to the CO OP for my 1st fill up since lock down. Up the road to Tanvics and drop off a barrow wheel for a new tyre and tube for Gary. While that's being done back out in the sun and back to the A46 up to the Skeggy road and as far as Sudbrooke to Abz and Andy's to pick up my Fire TV stick.
Back out in the sun to A46/A57 Carholme Roundabout and back to Tanvic to collect Gary's barrow wheel expecting a run across town to drop it off with him at home. And that people is where it all went wrong.
I came out of Tanvic's office and got in the car and turned the key and .................. nothing.
It appears the starter motor has given up the ghost. IF I could've got recovery home it would have been around £60 but you can't stay 2 mt apart in a tow truck. A new s/motor is going to be around £80 and with an hours labour it made sense to leave it there and get Gary to come and take me home. But they can't do it till Monday. It is what it is. Strange times we live in eh?
I hate cars!
Tony.
