Lorries won't be the problem Robert. McDonald's already run there fleet on used oil from the restaurants. Stobarts have a percentage running on gas so others will follow when they need to.
I take your point but it's all hydrocarbons with the associated emissions though. I may be being a bit cynical here, but I can just hear Jeremy Vine running a topic claiming that operating vehicles on used cooking oil is as dangerous as diesel because the particulates contribute to childhood obesity, or some such tosh.
It's not that long ago that the government of the day was giving financial incentives to switch to diesel cars as they were thought to be the saviour of the world. Just like electric vehicles now. Flawed, or at least unproven, science siezed upon by politicians. Not the first time and it won't be the last.
