Thanks to our wonderful Government now saying there will be no diesel in the UK by 2050 i'm going to have to change Jues car sooner than planned. It only leaves me 31 years to get my head around what to get her next!

I had better start to stock pile it.

We'll all be running our cars on chicken eyelids and unicorn rainbow coloured droppings by then Dave, carbon fuels, phfft! So yesterday :bashhead:

Political rhetoric. Just how is road haulage going to work without diesel? Even with 30 years development, just think how many charging points would be required to top up all the hgvs that rumble up and down the UK. Where is all that electricity going to come from? Come to think of it, what about shipping? Solar powered container ships sailing from China bringing all the stuff that we don't make in the UK anymore?

HGVs will be going back to steam and fuelled by burning all the waste packaging foisted on us by supermarkets and product manufacturers. The carbon emissions will be captured and turned into pencils. We will need pencils because we won’t have enough fuel to generate electricity to power phones and computers.

China won’t want to send anything to the UK as we will be unable to afford anything by then. In fact, you can add all the cheap Chinese cr@p that we have now to the fuel hopper for the steam HGVs. We will then do a roaring export trade in pencils ;)

I've got 8yrs left to reach my 3 score years and ten and then I'm off, so f**k 'em

Pencils - you may have hit on something there. Should I invest in the Acme Pencil Company?

nuclear cars are the way forward, what can possibly go wrong?
and you can have a "Mr Fusion" on the boot too:

So that’s what @Lee’s kettle was all about. He was secretly working for BMW developing the new propulsion unit for the latest Z4

I’d better make sure the next Z I get is Petrol then :p

They have pledged to completely kill off diesel by 2050. Obviously this will be impossible but hey let's give them a chance Toby.

Lorries won't be the problem Robert. McDonald's already run there fleet on used oil from the restaurants. Stobarts have a percentage running on gas so others will follow when they need to.
