Did you try them both ways? I like how they look on the outside

They fit very well and just need one blob of 2 component glue at the bottom

I assume the sealant didn't have good enough seal which is why there's loads of dirt in. Do i use a particular rubber butyl sealant to reseal it?
I just reheated mine with hot gun and clipped it back together.
