After 41 years work 8 years in the Vickers ship yard ( now BAE ) and 34 years in the water Industry as a electrical engineer I have given my 12 months notice to retire april next year at 57 , I am one of the very fortunate ones to still have a Defined Benefit pension so lots more Z ing time for me i might finally get my 2.8 back together

Great news. You've done your bit, now enjoy the next chapter!

Probably picked the right time. The NHS has forced members into a new scheme with less benefits but still have to honour the old scheme so good job I got my years in there.

I’ve also done it,
After working in Automotive parts for over 40 years, many happy years with ZF/ Sachs/Lemforder and more recently MEYLE for 12 years I have also decided to take ‘EARLY’ retirement finishing on May 20th 2022.
Hoping to make up those Z miles we weren’t able to accumulate due to COVID.

Good for you Paul, you're only here once mate. I bailed at the end of '18 and don't regret it one bit.

Tony.
