Here we are on the other side of Torksey railway bridge, a place I have never been in all my 59 years. We took a short walk up the Notts. bank back towards home to take some pictures of Torksey Castle which lies in ruin since Cromwells army destroyed it during the English Civil War.
This is the "Castle" which was actually a large family house. @FRANKIE
Access from local farmer has been very hard to get I'm led to believe and permission could be very fragile.
You see some strange people over here.
The bridge had closed to rail traffic since I can remember but it did still come to the Shell-Mex and BP fuel terminal on the riverside from Lincoln direction. There is no longer a bridge over the road into the village now.
Quite a lot of work has gone into this project.
Back on dry land Torksey side of the river.
Tony.
