That would very much appear to Bosch's standpoint mate. I would have to agree too.

A pump is just a pump the programming is what is feeding it. If the pump was at fault or part of the cause its not getting fixed by any recall just the software so the argument has to flawed really ?

I did not, saw the title of your thread.
Its getting stuffed down your throat these days in the news "Diesel Fumes Kill Kids" etc.
And you own one.....;)
Diesel fumes have been killing people for many, many years mate, so has coal. I don't worry about that but I don't like being conned like VW did.

I think they were pretty clever actually, little bit of soft ware.....;)
No one would have known if not for a whistle blower.

No one complains about the shyte the oil & gas biz pump into the ground to get the stuff out so that you can drive your Z and the oil burner you own.

But that's because no-one knows Mike, or they didn't till you blew the whistle? Again, I'm not complaining about the emissions just the value of our car being less than it should be because of an uncovered lie. I wont have the VW "fix" done as it's making matters worse from what I'm told and it will not have any problems passing Euro emission standards.

Its all out in the open and always has been for any one that could be interested, check out 'Mud Acid'.

An inexact term, usually meaning a mixture of hydrochloric (HCl) and hydrofluoric acid (HF), HCL/HF. HF will dissolve some silicates and some of the components of drilling mud.

That is just swings and roundabouts mate, like anything else, house prices, exchange rates etc.
Ordinarily I agree Mike, but this crap has lowered the value of one make of car, of which I happen to own one.:( I'm never happy when some bugger has their hand in my pocket.=))

Anyway, backing up a few posts to how do they get oil out of the ground? I'm guessing it's not like Jed Clampet found his, out shooting a jack rabbit when " up from the ground came a bubblin' crude, oil that is, black gold, Texas Tea!. So what do they pump into the desert to get oil out there ain't any water there to use?

Big business will try and get away with whatever it can while no-one asks the big questions. Always have and always will. When the questions start getting asked then the cheque books (or whatever today's equivalent is) come out to provide an incentive to forget the questions.
When the queue of people needing incentivisation gets to big the issue gets blown into the open and everyone involved squeals it wasn't me. It's always us mugs at the end of the line who end up paying.
Meanwhile, the car industry is doing a rapid volte-face and turning to petrol. Happening much faster then I expected tbh.

Maybe the mud-acid peddlers will be next....

Yep, just like that, that is why you get 'Blow Outs'

So what do they pump into the desert to get oil out there ain't any water there to use?
Loads of water under the desert, that is why they first drill for water to fill up the plastic lined water pits before the drilling rig starts drilling for oil.

So, in some places the oil is under pressure? Didn't realise there was so much water under the sand, I guess it's deep down?
