Managed to find a group of people parked up looking to the skies.
Had a great view of the plane as it turned and flew straight over our heads, an absolute delight to see this beautiful aircraft towards the end of its flying days. Will download picture later, unfortunately came at us with the sun behind so photos bit tricky.

Some one posted a decent bit of video on FB Paul. Shirley showed me it. We were too late getting home to go spotting.

So when is the Vulcan leaving Doncaster on it's final journey to wherever it is going to be displayed or is it going to stay at Doncaster on display from now on?

It's staying at Doncaster in a purpose built display hall and its going to be kept in running condition.

Wouldn't be surprised if the last flight is with Thumper now she is back in the air.

Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (Official)

Why aren't we petitioning for the BBMF to take on this fantastic British warbird and keep it flying? The fact that the main star is the Lancaster, which wasn't even invented in 1940, surely means that the flight ought to be renamed The RAF Memorial Flight, and the Vulcan should should go to Coninsgby! Share if you agree!

Valid point of view below to be honest.....

The BBMF is taxpayer funded, the money comes from yours and my taxes. It's part of the defence budget which is voted by Parliament to the MoD.
That money should NOT be spent on a complex, ancient, obsolete aircraft just to entertain the public. It should be spent on equipment for our airmen and air women can defend the country and be the best equipment so they have the best protection should they be asked to go to war on our behalf. Their very lives come first.
The comparison with WW2 aircraft of BBMF does not understand the complexities of operating and maintaining an aircraft such as the Vulcan. In any case, the companies that hold the design authority, RR BAe and Marshalls, have withdrawn their support to this type of aircraft - due in part to skills being lost by the ageing workforce. Those skills will no longer be found in the modern day RAF. This proposed Petition, like all the others, is just plain daft.....

I have to agree and whilst it is sad to see the Vulcan grounded, imagine the uproar if it crashed say, over a city because it hadn't been correctly maintained? All good things must come to an end and sadly the time is now.

The Vulcan has had its day. I would rather see the BBMF add more appropriate aircraft to its collection, like the Mossie, Tempest, Typhoon, Beaufighter, Defiant etc.
