More on the lunch, I asked to be there soon after 12.00 as that's when they start to serve lunch, told that was fine. So we need to leave The White Swan car park at 11.30 to be at Woodcocks in good time.

Lunch is 2 for 1 and with 5 choices of roast meats price is £12 - £15 (for two).

After visiting the IBCC we will call here for Ice Cream.

It's, The White Swan, Torksey Lock. Lincoln. LN1 2EJ Andy. You still got my mob. number mate, if not I'll PM it to you.

ok we are in will do the run from Mc Donalds to the swan if theres any more wanting to or just go from here

I'll give the lunch a miss Tony, being a single diner it's an expensive lunch and in the last 4/5 weeks there have been too many poor reviews regarding waiting times and quality of food. I'll tag along but take sarnies.

Ok Adrian but Mint is on his own so you could do a share. I read the reviews but I take them with a pinch of salt. I know some regulars who are happy there mate.

Tony.

Any places left?
As I would love to come, but won't know until the Thu if I am able to.

No probs about the meal. If I'm able to make it, I'll order whatever I can - even if its crisps and nuts at the bar =))

We've got to go through Ollerton so we're happy to meet at McDonalds.

Hi Tony/everyone,

My son & I have just seen your post. Interested in coming along, but have a slight problem in that the Z currently has no drivers seat! It should be all fixed by next weekend, but have to be counted as a maybe atm.

I've seen the issues re: the meal & we can make do with whatever if it's a problem for numbers. Happy to go with the flow.

Phil

Got the day and the place, but what time is the meet please ?
(Sorry if I’ve missed it somewhere:whistle:)
I’m on my lonesome as well:(:(

Need to LEAVE White Swan at 11.30.

Hi Phil, yes you're very welcome to come along. Need to LEAVE the White Swan (you know where that is?) at 11.30. to get to Woodcocks for 12.00.

Tony.

There is a small café at the IBCC with sandwiches cakes etc but no full blown Sunday Lunch. with great views over Lincoln castle and cathedral on a good day with plenty of car parking . An interesting place to visit for couple of hours, It's called Bomber County for a reason.

It is that John. Me and Shirl visited earlier in the year and we searched for family names on the memorials.
I spoke to a lady called Sue today and she told me they have started to do lunches now at £12 p/p.

We went today to have a proper look around. Very interesting and poignant. Great views of Lincoln as well. Only one other thing to say though, how come whenever we go anywhere like this there is always at least one flipping coach full of school kids there?

Because you go in the week, on a school day?;) Glad you've been Mary, and you're right some lovely views over the city including Cottam Power Station in the distance which is just across the river from the White Swan just to give you some perspective.

Tony.

ps. We had the joy of the same 2 weeks ago when we went to the Sealife Centre in Gt. Yarmouth. To be fair the kids were well behaved there, and if I'm honest it's good that schools take kids to places such as this to show them the effects war has on families.
