Coming off the Workington roundabout on the A595 onto a stretch of dual carriageway a Mercedes SLK 300 with its roof down clocked me and went for it. Rude not to I thought, so I did. He gave up at 80mph as he couldn't get away so I tucked in behind him with a smug (if not imature) grin on my face.

Happy days for the old girl. Nice car though.

Good job - stay safe!
 Thanks. If I'm honest " racing" other cars is not my thing. Caught up to him and just tucked in behind him, job done. Nice straight dual carriageway with just us and no slip roads.

So childish but bloooooody love it=))

I'm starting to lose track of Merc and BMW model designation nowadays, had to google 'SLK300' and see it's not a 3.0l V6 but a turbo 4pot. Healthy 245bhp and 370nm of torque though...
These modern turbo 4cyls are so powerful these days I tend not try it on anymore as even some diesels can leave me standing these days!

So I play it this way: sneaky blast last when they off guard then back off to a cruise when they floor it acting all cool,
a bit like like an sauve Aston V12 driver who just doesn't have to even try, the power speaks for itself! (That's what I tell myself anyway!).

Yeah, googled it when I got back, 0-60 in 6.0 seconds so only 0.7 faster than mine. And you never really know if they've been chipped to hell and back.
