Every now and again you get something in to Mot thats just a bit nicer than usual
Dont get me wrong i test a good few nice mercs , audi and bmw couple of different Porsche Taycan 4s
But this is a bit nicer this is its 3rd mot and i have done all 3 now got 19k on clock always gets a full dealership service before i do mot
Noticed it had a new spring on Nearside front he told me it was broken and Mclaren had replaced it at £1651 parts and labour ( ouch ) and he also had to get the pollen filter replaced £367 ( double ouch) but i suppose joys of ownership of a high end sports car.

what a beautiful car 🌞
I love it 👍

Wouldn't like to think what the pence per mile cost of running that is 😮

Someone's got to pay for Mclaren's wages. My best friend's son started at Mclaren (cars not F1) at 18 in 2016 on a salary of nearly £40k a year.

Told me they give him a hire car as the service takes 2 days to carry out as parts of the bodywork has to be removed to get access.
No real access to engine bay area on mot underneath flat like an ev

Got some really annoying stuff like
Most cars on an mot once have done the first bit and i jump in drivers seat i lean across and check passengers door opens from the inside car need to be pretty big for me not to do it
But because of the Mclaren's gullwing type doors you have to do it sitting in the passengers seat as you cant ooen and push up from driver seat doors are chunky lets say.
Also doing the emmission is a bit frustrating passes all the co,hc and lambda no problem but see trying to keep the revs within the required range for the required time would drive you nuts throttle is sooooo twitchy you have it at around 2500 counter is counting down then you move the throttle the tiniest fraction and its a way up then you lift tiniest but it's away down near idle but then counter reset aaaaaaargh!
then you need to start again till you can get it right and hold it still long enough to complete it

Its nice but got to tell you
Wouldn't thank you for one seems a bit snappy for town use and a bit tooo focused for the country roads more a relatively focused track car thats road legal

pretty, but not for me at all, its like having a high maintenance wife, one that has sooooo many needs.......

i remember years ago i was driving back from portsmouth on way home on weekend leave, an i had a 1970 dodge dart 340ci v8 which drank fuel, and i stopped on the motorway servives and a guy in a ferrari f430 pulled up next to me and started to admire the lack of everything my car had, we laughed saying his front brakes had more tech than my whole car. I still would have chosen my old dart over his, and mine was faster to 100mph

It would help if it was an attractive car, what a monster IMHO

I don't see the point of these 'supercars' unless you want to trailer them to track days and play at being a racing driver. What good are they on our busy potholed roads? A more useable Porsche or Aston Martin would seem a far better option.

It's all about "Look at me, I'm rich!"
