So I moved from the UK to Australia back in January 2018.
This meant I had to leave my beautiful low mileage 2002 3.0 Z3 sport, back in the UK, as I hadn’t owned my car for the required 12 months prior to arriving in Australia.

The good news is that after 22 months of stress, I have finally been granted Discretionary Personal Vehicle Import Approval.
I can now ship my Z3 out to Australia, to be with me once more.
This is such a relief as I couldn’t bare the thought of having to sell my car.

After having my first application refused I thought I was never going to be able to get my Z3 out to Australia, so earlier this year, I bought a 2002 Porsche Boxster S.
The thing I’m worried about is will I be disappointed with the Z3 driving experience after driving the Porsche..... I’m trying to persuade my wife to let me keep both I don’t think that’s going to happen.

Regards Bob

Congrats @Bobafixit .... great news Mate. I’ve spent many an hour pouring over Zeds in the UK and how I can get one in as an import. As you found initially..... until it’s 25 years old got no chance over getting one in. I’m glad that you’ve had a win and your toy in head here where it should be :thumbsup::thumbsup:

G'day Bob. Boxsters are two a penny compared to Zeds and don't look anywhere near as good. Are you anywhere near me?

Hi Grenville

I live in Albury NSW. Don’t see many Z3’s or Boxsters down here.
It’s not until I moved here that you realise how good the UK is for choice of cars. Z3 and Boxsters are 10 a penny !
That being said the Australian cars I’ve seen are completely rust free.
Now I have the task of trying to find a good vehicle importer to get my car here safe and then get my Z through customs, compliance etc.

Here’s are couple of pics of my Z and Boxster.

I'd keep the Zed. Mate, cars rust badly on the Aussie coast or within 100 klicks. So, you are a days good drive from me, only 750 miles. 12 hours non stop.
