Various bushes

As this lockdown continues, I'm going to start working my way through the various bushes on the underside of the car and get them replaced. I'm not wanting to change the bushes to Powerflex or Strongflex as I don't want to make the ride too harsh, so I'm planning on going for OE or equivalent bushes.
I've already ordered the lollipop bushes from BMW which are due in the next few days, but what other bushes are there to change? I've looked all over Google, and I can't seem to find a list of bushes that can changed.
Does anyone have a list, or can point me towards a list somewhere?

Next ones could be anti-roll bar "D" bushes Phil and also the A/R link bushes too. The rear ones can be a bit of a pain pushing them onto the ends of the roll bar. The front ones have an "eye" at both ends so easier to do. Have you replaced the Diff.eye bush?

Realoem is your friend. Look it up select your vehicle and look through your systems. Basically you will probably wanting

Front Axel: Maybe wishbones, Wishbone brackets, maybe wheel bearings, drop links, Antiroll bar bushes., maybe top mounts of suspension. I think that’s it.

Rear Axel: Rear beam bushes, trailing arm bushes, rear diff hanger bush, drop links, ARB bushes, top mounts.

Most of my nuts, bolts, clips and brackets. I have bought new over a period of time to spread the cost but have made savings by shopping about on eBay For nuts and bolts. https://www.bmwautoparts.net/en for bolts, clips and brackets.!Main dealer for rear back plates and hand brake cables and some bolts. A nice diff dress kit from here https://www.specialclassicparts.de/...GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/83478026/Products/FW001

plus you might want to attend to any rust problems. Lots of products from Bilt Hamber and Rust.co.uk.If you look on my very slow rebuild thread You can see what you can achieve. If you search on here for rear beam bushes or look at the zed shed thread lots of photos for reference and inspiration.

Hi Tony. I haven't replaced any bushes yet, so going to work my way around the car for the next few weekends. The front wishbone rear bushes came today from BMW and i'm expecting the front ARB bushes and drop links before the weekend. So thats my weekend sorted!
The car is running amazingly well, which is only due to the help you have given me over the last 12 months!
I've noticed that when I accelerate hard in 1st, 2nd or 3rd there is a clunk when I take the clutch out after changing gear, which I think is the rear diff bush needing changed, or maybe something completely different!!
I'm missing the Zedsheds and hopefully normality will be resumed soon. Hopefully we will get a run out in September, if your holding the event again this year.

If we can run a cruise Phil we certainly will. Obviously it will have to be a mishmash of some previous routes but even so it would be great to get some people together.
I'm keeping an eye on the Lockdown easing so we can resume a Shed day ASAP. Keep well mate.

In the last few weekends, I've replaced the lollipop bushes on the front wishbone, the front ARB bushes, the front drop links, the rear ARB bushes and the rear drop links. Generally speaking, I've either used BMW parts, or good quality parts. I have purposefully stayed away from Poly bushes as I don't want a really harsh / stiff ride. The only bush that I feel now needs replacing is the Diff bush as when I accelerate hard and change from 1st to 2nd, or 2nd to 3rd there is a definitive clunk. Also, this would finish off the bush replacement that I want to do at this time. My query is around the rear diff bush and my options. Is there likely to be any difference between a poly bush or a rubber bush on the rear differential in terms of ride quality? I can imagine the poly bush being easier to install than a rubber diff bush (?) and in terms of cost, a OEM bush is £32 and a poly bush is £31 so nothing in it. Should I go for poly or rubber?

Phil, as you say the difference is in the fitting. To fit the Diff. bush you need to jack the car under the Diff. and then place 2 stands under the rear jacking points. Then you can remove the Diff. Eye bush nut and bolt, then lower the jack so you can remove the old bush complete with outer steel shell and replace it with a Poly bush. OR, you can remove the Diff. plate and get the old bush pressed out and a new rubber bush pressed in.
