Vapor barrier - facelift doors

I am going to be taking off the door cards in my "pre-facelift" M to reseal them and change the speakers on the door cards and also change door handles to chrome.

While I am at it I am thinking of upgrading the vapor barrier from the "plastic" sheet that comes in the pre-facelifts to the slightly better "foam" type that comes in the facelifts.

The question is - can the foams be bought at dealers? anyone know the part numbers? been on Realoem but can't see anything

If not - anyone has any breaker facelift cars with good condition (not torn) inner door foams?

Thanks

When I had my respray done a couple of years ago the spray shop replaced the vapour barrier on both doors. so, yes, you could get them 2 years ago. Mines a facelift version but sorry don't have a part number for them.

OK I have found it now.

For the pre 98s including the M - there is only a plastic sheet liner part number - 51488397163

For the post 98s different part numbers for foam type liner - 51488410037 and 51488410038

Still need to see which one mine is fitting but I strongly suspect is the plastic sheet liner

If anyone has some good condition foams let me know

Reckon you'll be lucky to find a good second hand one very often damaged if previous removal due to the bonding .:(
But then again never say never :rolleyes:

The foams in my doors were all ripped up. I replaced them with ........ plastic sheet. No more rain on the floor!
