Hi all,

Firstly, please ignore the big arrow in the pic below. I borrowed it from google.

Question is - does anyone know what these 3 torx bolts do, and what happens if i took one out? Specifically the top one.
Will it fall apart inside the vanos or is it just a blanking screw?

Any info much appreciated.

I am not sure Chris but I would not remove anything. Why would you risk it? If you mess with the oil supply to the vanos, well let's just say you might as well start looking for a replacement engine now.

On a lighter note, this guy messed with his vanos and look what happened to him! lol

Always thought LPG was slightly dangerous inside the car.

Thanks for the comments guys.
Just a slight weep from the top bolt and before I had chance to investigate, thought i'd put a question out there.
I haven't found what's under the bolts, however to sort my problem i found one had loosened a bit so it just needed nipping up.
For now, I think that's sorted my problem.

Cheers
Chris

ps
this was after doing the VANOS job.
driveability is much better. revs are more stable. power is consistent.
