Anyone ever put a “racing stripe/stripes” on their Z3M? I had a mini cooper S prior and found the bonnet/boot stripes fun. I am considering getting wheels in custom color and coordinating with a single “porsche” like stripe on driver side… silly, but fun. Apology if this is beneath the forum topics itemized importance scale…

What you are asking will definitely have a yes and a no camp.
Would say not something that you usually see on z3's
But that doesn't necessarily make it a bad thing.
And at the end of the day it's your zed so you can do whatever you want to it.
But if you are gauging opinions then its a no from me not something I would do prefer the clean lines.

BTW…. I got this idea playing with paint in my Forza 5 garage on Z4 model. 
I am avid cyclist… and when ordering my Ridley from factory with free custom paint frame offer, I spent more time on paint combinations than I did on Gruppo. Literally spent 5 weeks with simulator…. It was aweful and inspiring at same time.

I have put go-faster-stripes on a few of.my cars in the past. Sometimes really gone overboard with it.
But somehow I don't think a z3 is a stripe-able car.
So, I do like a nice stripe, but on a zed it's a no from me too.

I also am not adversed to some stripes
This is my Real racing 3 ( other products are also available
) z4 e89 .
Which ended up a funcky purple colour.
But then added a stripe to spruce it up a bit .

Exactly the same as me. I have put stripes on a wide variety of cars from AMG mercedes, Brabus models & even a Ford Smax, Kia Sportage & Skoda Yeti.... and yet.... I just don't think it would be right on the Zed.....
Have seen a few Z3s with stripes over the years, all looked crap.
This needs a bigger spoiler!!!

Not for me although I did put black vinyl lower sill covers on the Z4 to break up the slab appearance of the side of the car. Don't think stripes on the bonnet or boot do anything for the looks of the car on either the Z3 or Z4.
It's not for me personally, however, it's an established fact that stripes add BHP and give you more speed
