It's getting rare in any branch of engineering these days to repair a faulty part, most will replace with new or even a "reconditioned", secondhand part.

Exactly, believe it or not I'm a taxidermist, I used to thoroughly enjoy creating life like mounts as a hobby and spent hours on end in my studio, I then started to make good money doing it and it all of a sudden became a chore so I gave it up.Suppose it's like anything, feels like fun until you actually have to do it everyday
