Sp, some very insightful and practical tips n tricks for making a 1.9 go a little quicker and in no particular order here are the top things one should do to wring out some more POWER from a stock 1.9

1. Dust caps - carbon fibre is the best option the weight reduction alone is worth at least another 0.001sec to 60 - thank you, ebay has been alerted and china is chucking its best efforts to the UK as I type
2. Whippy to a stubby - genius and prolly my most fav mod - the additional downforce of a stubby is not ot be sniffed at - thank you and again eBay has been alerted and as long as my gormit is sound (oooer, missus) i might do the upgrade
3. Buy a bigger Zed - have to say like most divorces "I wasn´t planning on spending that much" - but TBF I have been cruising the small ads for a 3.0 or a Z3M - Wife will def thank you for that suggestion :)
4. Fit a turbo - bit wild and not sure of the full benefits but will explore - thank you
5. Air filter and fruity exhaust - Def gonna explore these options
6. Slow down and smell the roses - certainly the cheapest mod and at 55 yrs old I´m doing that already but again - wise words and thank you

I can also add a couple of my own

7. Might remove the 6 CD stacker in the boot and go full "competition mode" in the weight reduction dept as I haven't played a CD since about 2005
8. Retro fit manual window winders who needs two more electric motors that are bound to fail at some point anyway ' ditto the seats as my bushes have gone but Im kinda getting used to the whole brake, brake, slide, kiss the steering wheel motion .....(Competition mode)
9. NEVER take the wife with me on run'abouts - more weight reduction strategies and to be fair she doesn't get the whole "isn't this awesome" as I try my hardest to drift around mini round'abouts anyway

Bottom line - less is more and I will prolly stick to what I have today and just smile as occasionally I take a 2021 one series at the lights :-)

How about smearing vaseline on your glasses, so that you get a motion blur effect all the time?

...or - as I have done in the past, on track - put narrower tyres on the car so the grip is reduced and everything little twitch happens much quicker.

...or NITROUS!

Nitrous - Mmmmmm!

A heavy bottle of nitrous. I'm not sure Colin would approve.

He'd approve of filling the car with helium balloons, though =))
I'd assumed the weight of the nitrous bottle was going to be offset by filling the tyres with hydrogen, replacing all body panels with carbon-fibre versions, and putting carbon-fibre bucket seats in?

...or you could just leave a huge bottle of nitrous in the garage and have a long hose connecting it to the car (distance may be a tiny obstacle)?
