uneven rear tyre wear

No mate, the K&W suspension was already on the Z3 when I bought it, I added the spacers a couple of years later and just managed the tyre wear as I described. There is no adjustment on the rear of a Z3.

Ah, yes I am Ian. I haven't had a 4 wheel alignment check done on it to be honest as the original tyres were wearing very even and the"new" Goodyear F1 Eagles are too so I'm confident that all is well. One day I might ask the tyre lads to have a look at it for me, but first I will have to ensure that all the adjustment points are free to turn if needed.

Have always had the landy 4 wheel aligned - well worth the money. Getting 29-30k miles from each set of tyres without fail. Current set is on 26k and still at 4.4mm all round.
Don't expect to get nearly as much from the Z4 (it gets driven slightly differently ), but, it seems a good idea to get it reset of you change the setup considerably. A new set of tyres is much more expensive. Am surprised it doesn't get mentioned after all these impressive suspension upgrades.

The thing is with a Z3 there's little you can do without considerable expense. The Z4 is a different animal, you've set the seed in my brain now. If/when I get some free time I will make sure the adjusters are free.

I think it is an often overlooked bit of maintenance to be honest Tony.

Yes, I agree, and when I can get it done for nowt it's a no brainer really.

I found my zed to sit lower drivers side than passenger it was only more noticable when i lowered it.
It may be subframe bush wear that causes it but when you read about it on line its quite a common thing for one side to sit differently.
I leveled it out with spring pads so its mm perfect it may be a lazy bush but a pad has sat it level and if its causing tyre wear is a way to fix until you get the beam looked at.

I have the same issue with mine where it sits a bit higher on the passenger side at the rear. Need to get some spring pads sorted, ideally it needs to go lower on the passenger side and not higher on the drivers side.

So no good slipping a small peice of fence panel under the driver's side then Dave?

5mm spring pad out on the high side will see close to 10mm drop.
Or a 7.5mm on the low side may balance it.
It sits fine at the front and swapped the spring sides at the rear and no different only fix was pads

This might do it, is it just one pad that needs taking out and would that be the top or bottom one?

The top and bottom are the same thickness but one has a bumper stop built in so it may be better to remove the other pad .
