Wash it off with a pressure washer , use carrier bags and tape over the fuse covers ect, no problems whatsoever.

Out of interest, how far is that from where you live?
Don't have any before pictures, didn't think the Cif stuff would work so well, so you'll have to imagine plenty of dried-on brown crud above the dipstick area. Do have an after picture, so feast your eyes on this.....

How about cleaning the alloy rocker cover on the M44 and other alloy bits, sandpaper and then lacquer?:(

Problem with lacquering polished metal is it doesn't last long, especially in an engine bay.

Much better to go for a standard silver / black combo.

Or sexy it up with some red crackle paint ala alfa / Honda / ferrari
