Yup, common Lab intelligence mate. Our Sam was just like that too.

It's amazing how dogs can survive. One ran out on me 2 years ago and it bounced off my Alhmabra front bumper with me doing 40mph. It was a bit confused for 20 minutes then got up and wanted to walk off. It survived with no ill effects. Unlike my car that needed £1,500 of repair and is still affecting my insurance now despite it being non-fault!
Yes in due course the money was recovered from his pet insurance. But I'm glad I had legal support bought with the insurance as it wasn't straightforward getting the excess back.you are aware the dog owner was liable for the damage?
In fairness that's exactly what one would do. The other would be very concerned and realise there was a serious problem. They are like Pooh bear and Tigger. One watches life go by, the other bounces around non stop!Yup, common Lab intelligence mate. Our Sam was just like that too.

The problem is even a non-fault accident affects your premium with many insurers.
Also I've just had a massive falling out moving to Hastings. I told them about the accident and that it was non-fault. In the Claims Underwriting Exchange (insurance big brother) database it says non-fault.
But they had an 18 month old quote on their system from me where I'd declared it as fault. Which is the law, it's what you have to do while the matter is outstanding as it was back then. Claim not yet resolved? Assumption it's your fault.
So my word and inparticular CUE wasn't good enough. The old quote trumped everything! The lazy b*stards refused to ring my old insurers or even acknowledge it was their responsibility. They kept on sending threatening letters that if I didn't provide evidence they've load my premium. Where was I meant to get evidence from? I had to take a day off work to go through 3 years of unfiled paperwork. Too busy working on Z3s to have time to file papers more oftenIt was literally the last piece of paperwork out of hundreds I had piled up!
In the meantime during the last phone call with them I lost my rag as they wouldn't extend the deadline. It was my Mum's birthday so no chance of me prioritising their paperwork. They weren't interested. Next day my premium is loaded £130.
So that bl**dy dog still haunts me now. And I have 1 more year to go before it drops off the radar.
The £130 is now refunded and they have kindly waived the admin charge!
Needless to say I will be cancelling my insurance with Hastings when I get a minute. Can you imagine how difficult they'd be in a real crisis like a claim?
Sorry Shelly I hi jacked your thread![]()
No you're fine. Just trying to explain why you can be as careful as you like but get cr*pped on.Sounds like I should have kept my mouth shut! Sorry for touching on a raw nerve.
I had an unresolved claim some years back and that only loaded quotes by a couple of quid. Lucky really as the claim rattled on for 5 years.
As for legal insurance, I fired the firm my claim was "sold" to. It is one big scam. I eventually fired the replacement firm as incompetent. The third firm made some progress but then paid the first firms claimed fees out of my settlement against my instruction.
I'm not sure who is worse, lawyers or insurance companies..
I know my name is at the top of this thread, because that is how the posts got moved.
But it was not me that started it....![]()
