Hi Ray,

I've switched to Internet Explorer for today to see if I have any issues (I'm a big fan of the Chrome browser). I'm using IE 10 on my Windows 7 machine, so may not be the same combination...

Cheers, Gary

Ah, that could tie in with a change I made to get over an iPad bug.

Which version of IE do you have? If you click on the 'cog' in the top right corner of IE, then select "About Internet Explorer". I'll try and set a machine up with it and test...

Gary, I am having the same problem on my work PC. I didn't realse until this lunchtime when I was reading this thread and I noticed the text box was missing. The buttons below (post reply, upload file & more options) are there but no textbox at all it is blank. I am thinking it may have something to do with either flash or java on my work PC as I know our IT restrict updates on these as it interfears with some of the systems we run and keep versions static until it is confirmed they are compatable.

If you are using IE9 it has a lot of incompatibility with this type of software, you can depending on the release of IE9 just click on the compatibility icon (broken page symbol).

it works in most cases but not all, you find that using browsers like Fire Fox you will have no problems, which is why chrome plus other non ms browsers tend to work.

i get this a lot with the supplier portal software we use at work and we have to specify minimum requirement for use and specific browsers and versions.

Thanks for the extra info Zedonist.

Internet Explorer really does suffer with modern Internet sites, a real pain in the you know what.

I know what the cause is so just need to find a workaround for IE users. Personally would like it wiped off the face of the earth...

Tell me about it, I have 2 or 3 calls a day, the trouble is microsoft do not test anything completely, they get it to acceptable and then let the public test and send error reports in, they then Pareto the issues and only provide fixes on the biggest issues, good business model or what!

Go Apple I say

Internet Explorer users should be OK now. Let me know if you still don't get the editor box.

It is possible to have a decent fully functional browser on Windows. Basically anything other than Internet Explorer. It's a shame there is such a reluctance to move away and on to any of the better browsers. :(
