I recently requested a certificate of conformity from BMW and having received the certificate forwarded it to the DVLA. I have heard back today and my 2001 2.2i sport has been re classified as ulez exempt. Very happy and no expense on my part!

I looked my 2002 (M54) 2.2i up by registration number on the TFL website and it said it was okay. Why would you need a certificate?

I did the same and the local one in Bristol and it said I wasn’t exempt hence the c of c to prove it. Don’t really understand it but the end result is positive

I'm Bristol based too.
Interesting point raised here.
Bristol says my 3.0i is non compliant....How did you know that your 2.2i was compliant ??
I beleive the 3.0i is OK in London.

If you apply to BMW for the certificate of conformity it will show the NOx rating for your car at point of registration. Provided it is below 0.08g/km you can request the DVLA to amend your ulez status to exempt. Mine was 0.037g/km

Hi Clivez
Just re-read your original post and noticed it says you applied to the DVLA for the exemption.
I applied to Tfl and when I search it always leads me back to the London ULEZ site.
Have you got a link to the DVLA page you used please?
Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark, TFL and regional authorities use DVLA data to check eligibility. See attached pic. I have just had a new v5 sent to me with my NOx level listed which is well under the ulez miiimum.

Just sent an email to BMW.
Lets see what the outcome is.
Incidentally, when did the V5 start carrying this info as 2 of our other vehicles have this already on the V5

No idea, I received a new v5 a few days ago and the NOx level had been added

Just got an email back from DVLA to say they are updating the records to show my 3.0 is compliant.
Now I'm going to have to go to battle over an outstanding £69 fine...

Good luck with that. Now, I wonder, how many more there are if people can be bothered to look?

Tony.

Applied to BMW for certificates of Conformity and they sent them back within a week.
Certificates listed the following,

Z4 2003 2.5 Nox 0.022
CO 0.048g/km
HC 0.064g/km

Z3 1998 1.9 Nox 0.069
CO 1.160g/km
HC 0.160g/km

I just checked and my 3.0 is exempt in London but not Bristol

Could anybody itemise the steps I need to take with any links to get Bristol to play ball please?

Do BMW charge for their certificate..is it all done electronically?

I don't have any emissions in my V5 so I assume, at an MOT test, the tester just checks the levels based on the year of the car.

If you have your z3 certified by BMW as nox 0.069 and put onto the V5 does that mean the MOT tester actually tests that the exhaust meets that level?

BMW I believe do not charge for a duplicate CofC. At least they didn't when I applied at the end of last year. The application is done online, I don't have the link readily available, hopefully someone on here who has applied recently can send you that. Beware websites offering a similar service for a fee.
